"I made no changes to the portion of the rebate which receives the hinge plates.
The need for the deeper recess did not interfere w/ my ceiling panel.
Not sure I can explain the geometry, but suggest that you bolt on the hinge and rotate the door, making sure you get it to the full open position. With the door in full open position, you can mark the new location for the edge of the (slightly) curved plane of the fuselage surface at the end of the tang.
Once everything was set, I used 2 layers BID to redefine and close the
bottom of the rebate."
