Bob Archer "E" Comm #1 to be mounted in top of vertical fin. For other than the transponder, we are going to use RG-400 cable. Especially for not easily servicable Bob Archer connection. The known robustness of RG-400 is worth minor hit in signal strength.
Here is a comparison of various cables on a 18 foot run at 121.5MHz, Total Run Attenuation (dB), and Efficency (%):
RG+142 .6dB 86.5%
RG-142 .8dB 84.0%
RG-400 .9dB 81.8%
RG-58 .9dB 81.1%
Please note above doesen't include connector loss or return loss from standing wave.
