Pin will get welded to a .080" thick plate and have 2 screws holding it in place.

Here door is closed and boy is the top aft part rigid. Without pin and striker can lift ~ 1/4", with pin and striker it is a struggle to lift it 1/32"! Not only is the pin and striker tugging down on the top of door, it is fighting pressure exerted by the lift strut when in the closed position.
Seems like a keeper!
