Eric recommends using nail polish as well. This CCA does'nt have any plating and should help keep from oxidising.
I used a 300 watt iron and 2% silver solder with a low melting point and some mild activated flux.
I tried to only solder the tip and not allow any solder to wick beyond the terminal.
Even though solder has a much higher resistance than copper, after crimping by applying solder it can lower overall resistance. This is especial true if crimp is not perfect.
Thus I bored out this #4 terminal for a snug fit. The remaining thickness of material after boring is similar to other terminals. This terminal was purchased from Wicks and was thicker than many others. I think it may be an AMP connector.
This three ply cover is for a critical spot in the Starboard headrest where ground is close by (this wire is positive).
