Steve D. recommended using 3/4" (20mm) neoprene isolation mounts from McMaster-Carr to provide the space needed as well as providing other benefits such as vibration isolation, better air flow, space for wires, room for defrost/heat, etc. McMaster-Carr PN 4403K13 & 4403K27.
