Tie-bar 41.
It was quickly found out that when the top plate was laid in place on top of the tie-bar and BID, which is on top of the wood, that the plate was not 90 degrees to the back of the cockpit module. The problem was the BID was a bit too thick on the outboard tip because of a little flox and peel ply epoxy.
Instead of sanding through the problem area and weakening the layup, I decided to install a spacer under the plate and above the tie-bar and Flox a bed on top of the BID to make it flat.
You can see our drill jig, a 1/2" thick piece of aluminium bonded to a piece of angle aluminium with JB KWIK weld.
The tie-bar is taped with 3M 375 to prevent Flox from bonding to it.
The temporary washers bonded to plate act as spacers.
