Heating systems

Heating systems:
Here is some details of my own Heater. IÂ’m just getting paperwork ready for PFA on this one.

In brief I have placed a hinged scoop arrangement to the rear of the radiators with cabin operated flap control to set amount of heat.

The idea came from a MCR001 which being typically French has a small scoop that you push down into airstream just behind radiators. ItÂ’s very simple and works great. Also Rotax setup.

The cabin air is introduced via 2 X 1.5” Scat hose from pick up point based on 2 X 1.5” Flanges riveted to airflow guide. I may add close-able flaps in cabin as a second cut-off of air in case of an engine fire but at the moment it emerges from lower centre area near where your heels are placed. Mine will be well forward on Tunnel.

Actuation is via Throttle type cable in Cabin. Scat Hoses travel into Wheel Bay and protected by stainless collars as they pass through Engine outflow area.
