Didn't bother stopping at Gainsville either. Just flew on to Ironhead to practice landing on the grass. Wind on the south end of the strip was from the Northeast. Wind at the middle was from the east and wind at the north end was from the southeast. Made for "interesting" landing practice. Went back to Denton where the wind was from the east at 10 gusting to 15 and I was landing to the south. Not fun. Went around on the first attempt. Ugly landing on the second. But I didn't hurt anything. Out for 2.5 hrs, took 9.5 gallons to refill.
