Following recommendations from the Europa Digest discussion list, I decided to replace the aluminum bolt-shoot guides with Nylon/Teflon bushings from McMaster-Carr. There were reports that the aluminum bolt-shoots tended to bind on the aluminum guides.
This was the best recommended fix.
