Found out that the rod actually needs to be installed first on the rudder. Then is inserted through the hole in the stern post. The rudder is Clecoed in position. Finally, the opposite end of the rod is bolted to the drive mechanism. There is still considerable work to be done fitting this whole mess and making it work properly.

In the shipment were the threaded rod end for the rudder drive rod and two circle clamps for the fuel filler pipe. Installed the circle clamps to the filler pipe hose, fastening it to the filler inlet to the fuel tank. Clamped the fuel filler head in place to the fuselage. Scuff sanded the area of the fuel filler head and adjacent skin. Mixed up a batch of Araldite 420 A/B and FLOX. Applied the Araldite/FLOX around the head to form a FLOX fillet. Mixed a batch of epoxy and prepared a 2-ply BID layup which was applied over the head of the filler pipe.

The rudder contacts the port side of the aft edge of the vertical stab well before the necessary 30 degree displacement has been obtained. The port aft edge of the vertical stab has to be relieved.
